Strelitzia reginae is commonly known as the Bird of Paradise plant because of the shape of the exotic flowers. This is a large plant that likes bright, light conditions.

It’s a plant that originates from South Africa.
Loves bright light, but perhaps best to shade the flowers from direct sun.
Flowers appear when the plant is around 1m tall, given ideal conditions.
Appreciates a light misting of water during summer.
Can grow to several metres tall in the wild.
Indoors it will be restricted by the pot.
Water regularly but never allow it to sit in water as the roots can rot.
Large established plant in a 27cm pot.
